Below are my current offerings at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign:

GGIS 495: Advanced Spatial Analysis (Fall 2026) This course explores advanced techniques for analyzing and modeling spatial data. Students will learn methods for measuring spatial phenomena, inferring spatial patterns, understanding spatial relationships, and spatial decision-making. Key topics include network analysis, spatial interpolation and surface modeling, spatial regression, spatial causal inference, and spatial optimization. Students will develop the skills needed to implement advanced spatial analytical techniques and interpret their results in applied contexts.

GGIS 527: Geospatial Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (Fall 2026) In this course, students will learn a variety of Geospatial AI and Machine Learning algorithms (e.g., support vector machines, neural networks) and their applications in geography and related areas. Students will gain hands-on experience with geospatial data and tools to detect patterns, clusters, and classes, as well as perform geotext mining and image processing using cutting-edge AI/ML methods.
